Company News, Hop Online shines at Tuk-Tam & Back2bg career fairOctober 24, 2013Anastasia AlpaticovaReading time: On September 12, 2013 Hop Online participated in the event “Career in Bulgaria. Why not?”, aimed at helping young Bulgarian professionals who studied or worked abroad to re-integrate into business life in Bulgaria. There they were presented with exciting and challenging career opportunities in their homeland.“Career in Bulgaria. Why not?” featured 63 companies that were looking for candidates, registered around 1,300 visitors, 33 speakers in the seminar program, 11 company presentations, as well as online broadcasting of the event outside of Bulgaria. This one-day forum was packed with useful workshops covering macro- and micro-economic issues in Bulgaria, entrepreneurship and start-ups. It also featured presentations where potential candidates could listen to success stories delivered by the managers and owners of companies and had a chance to directly ask them questions.Paris Childress, our CEO, presented his story of the decision to stay in Bulgaria, reasons to start an online marketing agency and the type of people that work at Hop Online (see full video presentation and slide deck below). Our goal for this event was to find passionate and curious people, genuinely interested in all things online and digital, who feel like fish in water in the various social media channels and love connecting to strangers all over the world. Another important requirement in our work is near-native level English as the majority of our clients are from English-speaking countries, and they expect professional and proficient communication. Last, but not least, we are looking for geeky in a fun way people, who may not always fit in, but are absolutely fine with that! One of the results of the fair was bringing on board Ellé Joteva as our Visual Editor. Freshly back from studying Photography and Media Arts at ANU in Australia, Ellé lived in the United States for 14 years where she studied Visual Arts at LACHSA and later graduated USC with a Fine Arts degree. At Hop Online she will put her amazing creative talent to helping us visually enrich the content we produce for our clients.
